I generally do not write a review for anything or anyone, but I am making an exception for my realtor, Ann Hume. When I think back on the time and effort she invested in me and my search for a first home in the Triangle area, a veritable thesaurus of adjectives comes to mind, but I will settle first on relentless. No one will stay with you longer nor with more enthusiasm for the hunt than Ann. She will invest in you on a professional level like no one else. She asked me of my priorities and took careful note of what were “stop” characteristics for me. When she had a sense of what I wanted, she crafted such targeted searches of the available real estate that my time visiting properties was never wasted. But I also want to stress how I was also completely impressed by her when she would ask me to look at places that, on paper, did not seem to fit what I thought were my parameters. But, because of her experience and expertise, she knew of neighborhoods and areas, even architects and builders, that were worth my consideration. There is no getting around the fact that the market was tough for me, but Ann was beyond patient with my asks. When it came time to submit a contract, she and her team were able to explain legal issues until I was comfortable. Her relationships with mortgage lenders paved the way for me to, with her and the lender’s help, advance my best offer every time. An added bonus was the moment when Ann would look at a house deeply, with her most critical eye. She took great pains to help me see, not just the beauty of a property, but the possible issues I might be buying into. She never discouraged me, but she always educated me to inform my decision. In the end, if you are entering this market or are on an upsizing or downsizing journey within the market, there is no one better equipped nor more capable nor more kind, to shepherd you through this very personal process.
